Former Chester City, Bury and Blackpool youth team player Nick Linford has recently had spells with Nantwich Town, Warrington Town and Witton Albion, before joining Leigh Genesis in early January 2009.

The midfielder made his Leigh debut in the 3-1 (AET) defeat to Ashton United in the UniBond League Challenge Cup Third Round at Hurst Cross on 12th January 2009.

Linford's full league debut arrived in a 4-0 defeat to Eastwood Town at Clitheroe's Shawbridge ground on Saturday 17th January 2009.
