With the relegation battle getting more intense by the week, the only thing that could increase the heat is another instalment of the “War of the Roses”, and that is exactly what RMI have on their hands when they travel over the Pennines to Farsley Celtic on Saturday afternoon. Leigh boss Stuart Humphreys has received a massive boost ahead of the trip to West Yorkshire with the return from suspension of inspirational goalkeeper John Lamb, who missed last Friday's disastrous 3-0 home defeat to relegation rivals Vauxhall Motors after being sent off at Stalybridge earlier in the month.

RMI go in to the game with only a victory in their sights after another Redditch victory in midweek, this time away to Worksop, left RMI second bottom and three points adrift of safety.

Opponents Farsley suffered a 4-1 trouncing at leaders Droylsden last weekend, but the Celts are just three points away from a play-off place with the season nearing it's conclusion, a terrific achievement for a side that is making it's Conference North debut following promotion from the Unibond Premier League last summer.

Saturday's trip isn't the only vital game of RMI's week, with the game at the Throstle Nest being followed by the short journey to rock bottom Lancaster City on Tuesday evening.
