AJ's Baggies Boost

Bryan Robson has recieved a boost after midfielder Andy Johnson underwent a succesfull cartilage operation and should be back in pre-season. Johnson picked up the injury in the defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Johnson said: "It's been a nightmare time for me and I've wanted to play my part in helping the club stay in the Premiership.

"It's frustrating when all you can do is sit in the stands but I am still confident that we can get out of trouble.

"I hope from the club's point of view that we stay in the Premiership, but also from my point of view.

"After helping us get promoted, I wanted a full season of playing in the top flight and that has just not happened because of this injury and other niggles."

"I had the operation in the week and it went well and everyone is pleased with the results.

"A bit of my cartilage had been ripped away and I've had something from a part of the knee where I don't need it grafted on.

"I won't be able to do very much for quite a while but if all went to plan I would certainly be looking to do some running in two or three months.

"All I want to do now is concentrate on getting back fit for pre-season - hopefully with Premiership football to look forward to."
