Baggies bid to keep Odemwinge

West Bromwich Albion will aim to end any speculation of their star striker Peter Odemwinge leaving the club this summer, by offering him an extended contract.  The players agent has confirmed that the 29 year old, who wowed fans with 15 goals in his first ever Premiership season, is in new contract talks with the Black Country club.

Odemwinge already has 12 months left to run on his contract, with a further 12 month option available in the clubs favour.  But officials at the club are anxious to open new contract negotiations with the player, as means of rewarding him for his efforts this season; which included an incredible run of scoring in 5 consecutive league games.

Forthcoming contract negotiations are also likely to act as a warning to other clubs, to keep their hands off their most popular asset.
