Hodgson happy at Hawthorns

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has revealed today that he is glad he made the choice to join the club when he did in mid February this year.  The 63 year old, who joined the Midlands club just five weeks after being axed from his previous job as Liverpool gaffer, had planned to take a long sabbatical from football when Roberto Di Matteo was given the chop at the Hawthorns.

Hodgson had considered ignoring calls from West Brom, but has now revealed that he is very glad he didn’t.  After a rough ride at Anfield Hodgson had considered a break from football, but took a chance on the West Brom job which he believed could be just the confidence builder he needed. 

His gamble it seems has paid off for everyone.  He is six games unbeaten, and the Baggies have begun to pull away from the bottom and are on the verge of Premiership survival.  Hodgson says he has felt comfortable at the club since day one, a sure sign that he has made the right decision.
