Lee Grant the keeper solution for Baggies?

West Bromwich Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo could consider a move for Sheffield Wednesday goal keeper Lee Grant. Di Matteo was forced to continue his search for a new goal keeper else where this week after having a third offer for Preston North End goalie Andrew Lonergan turned down. Grant now could emerge as a possible Baggies target.

Sheffield Wednesday today refused a £1 million offer from recently relegated Burnley for Grant, but the bid is likely to open a bidding war from several clubs who are known to already have an interest in signing the 27 year old from Hillsborough.

The list of potential targets has been drawn up by Dean Kiely as part of his new role at the Hawthorns.  Grant is believed to be highly ranked on Kiely's list, and could come at a much reduced price to the £2 million that Albion are believed to have been willing to invest in Lonergan.  It is widely believed that the Sheffield club would allow Grant to leave Hillsborough for a fee in the region of £1.25 million.
