Baggies have third Lonergan bid rejected

West Bromwich Albion have had a third bid for goal keeper Andrew Lonergan rejected by Preston North End. The Premiership new boys have been seeking the ideal solution to strengthen their goal keeping options with a top class back up tp provide cover and competiton for first choice keeper Scott Carson.

But Preston boss Darren Ferguson is reluctant to allow the 26 year old to leave the Championship club, stating that he rates him at £20 million.

Ferguson claims that Lonergan is settled, and remains unfazed by talk of the three bids from Premiership outfit West Brom.

Lonergan made his debut for Preston aged just 16, and has now been at the club for 6 years.  Ferguson told the BBC "Andy has been here 10 years, he has been brought up a Preston player and he has never said to me that he wants to move on. I respect that if some sort of deal was agreed and he has to speak to them then that's fine, but West Brom are nowhere near our valuation and I think it is dead in the water".

Ferguson rates him at £20?? I think that's over the odds just ever so slightly
