Bednar facing weekend fitness race

West Brom striker Roman Bednar faces a three day battle to return to full fitness before his team mates travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City this weekend. The Baggies have already suffered a long list of injuries over the past week, and Bednar became a late addition to that list yesterday after being struck down with a back injury before the game.

Bednar failed a last ditch fitness test before the Cardiff City game lastnight, meaning that boss Roberto Di Matteo had just 6 instead of 7 subs on the bench after having already named the Cech striker in his squad.

Bednar looks set to recover in time for West Brom's next fixture against Bristol City, but the club are not expecting any of their other injury concerns to clear up in time for the weekend.
