Miller: Stronger and fitter

It was almost impossible for the 20 thousand odd Baggies fans that braved the winter freeze, and sat for 90 minutes plus in sub zero temperatures to find anything positive about their performance against Nottingham Forest on Friday night. Perhaps one ray of light however was the introduction of Ishmael Miller in the second half, making his first Baggies appearance in 13 months.

Miller had been out of action for the Baggies since December 2008, after injury kept him sidelined for the remainder of Albion's Premiership campaign and also out of the first half of this season as the Baggies look to reinstate their Premier League status.

Albion rarely looked like troubling high flyers Nottingham Forest until the introduction of Roman Bednar, and then Ishmael Miller - who was greeted onto the pitch by raptures of applause from the Albion faithful.

Miller promises fans that he returns to action a stronger, fitter and better player than he was before, and maybe a sign of his new found strength comes from having played just one half of football before being thrown back into the thick of the action - a training game against Port Vale last week.

Miller admits his inclusion on Friday came as a surprise, and he will need more reserve team action before he is ready to become a first team regular.
