West Bromwich Albion gaffer Roberto Di Matteo and striker Simon Cox have been nominated for awards. Di Matteo is in the running for the Coca Cola Championship manager of the month award after West Brom opened up a 6 point gap between themselves and third placed Leicester City with three successive wins.
Striker Simon Cox is nominated for the Coca Cola Championship player of the month award after notching up 4 goals in 2 games, netting braces against Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.
The Baggies have scored an impressive 10 goals in their three successive victories, conceding just 2. Games include Saturday's 4-0 drubbing of Sheffield Wednesday, a 2-1 victory over 3rd placed Leicester City and an impressive 4-0 thriller with Bristol City - ending their 7 game unbeaten run.
Both men face stiff competition, with Di Matteo up against Chris Hughton of Newcastle, Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest and Neil Warnock of Crystal Palace. Cox faces challenges from Watford's Darius Henderson, Newcastle's Kevin Nolan, and Darren Ambrose of Crystal Palace.
Both awards will be announced this Saturday on Sky Sports Soccer AM.
