Third Greening bid rejected

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a third bid for midfielder Jonathan Greening. Having joined the Baggies in July 2004 for £1.25 million, Greening handed in a transfer request to the club after revealing his ambitions to remain in Premiership football.

Fulham, who have already offered £2 million and a second improved offer of £3.25 million are believed to have had a third offer for the Albion midfielder turned down this week.  The third offer was believed to have been in the region of £4 million.

Greening still has 12 months of his contract to run at the Hawthorns and could leave for free next summer if the club fail to regain promotion to the top flight.  Despite this however. sources close to Greening have revealed that he would be happy to stay at the West Midlands club this season if the price being offered for him from other clubs does not match that one in mind club chairman Jeremy Peace.
