West Bromwich Albion have been dealt a home tie for the 4th round of the FA Cup against Championship opposition QPR or Burnley. But they will have to wait until their replay with Peterborough in just over a weeks time to find out whether they will progress to the fourth round or not.
West Bromwich Albion could only manage a draw at the Hawthorns against Darren Ferguson's Peterborough side yesterday. Olsson grabbing a 64th minute goal, with Mackail-Smith hitting an 87 minute equaliser to force a replay at London Road on January 13th.
Queens Park Rangers and Burnley drew a blank at Loftus Road yesterday. So the exact nature of this fourth round tie won't be determined until both replays have taken place.
West Brom's neighbours Wolves could face Premiership side Middlesbrough at Molineux in the 4th round. But they will need to overcome Birmingham City at St Andrews first, after yesterday's fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
The cup draw also managed to produce a couple of local derbies. Liverpool will take on Everton at Anfield, and East Midlands sides Derby and Nottingham Forest will compete for a place in the 5th round at Pride Park after Derby finally overcame Forest Green 4-3. With managerial changes at both clubs recently, extra spice is added here with the return of Billy Davies to former club Derby. Now the manager of Forest, Davies comes into the competition off the back of a 3-0 victory at Manchester City in the third round.
Bet you wouldn't say that Daz. if yer did get Through. We had a great day out at Wembley last year. Ok it ended in defeat. But that's how history for your club is made. Ie, so many cups or league titles. That's what gives your club it's tradition. And the FA.Cup ain't no mickey mouse competion to the Hundreds of clubs that take part, beleive me. ( Just ask Carly lol. )
The Lords My Shepherd.
The future is bright. The future is Stripes.
We have a young squad, don't want to risk injuries in the cup. Blues have got an oldish squad, if they have a good cup run they will tire themselves out lol
I'd like a good cup run - think it breeds confidence for starters. And tey should take it seriously, who would have ever thought Portsmouth would have won last year?
We're proud of our 4 FA cups arent we?..We can match Albion's 5 if we win this year.
