Maria Costello has made history at the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix, by becoming the first ever lady to climb the podium in a remarkable third position.
Maria completed the course at an average speed of 106.040 miles per hour - a fine tribute for her determination and skill, to be the first ever female to finish on the podium in the Manx GP or the TT.
Having already entered the Guinness Book of Records by completing the Manx circuit at an average speed of 114.73mph - that she completed on the standing start lap of the 2004 Production 1000 TT race on a Suzuki GSX-R750 - she is certainly one fast lady.
Congratulations Maria, a well deserved podium, and I feel sure there will be many more to follow.
