A return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship after the highs of Brands WSB had set the team in the frame of mind to tackle anything possible, and they got it all in one weekend.

In first practice the weather was more speedboat than Superbike, and we struggled to find a way forward - and as we started to think it was not possible the sun came out. Then the gremlins started on the bike, leaving us with only one motor for race day.

Making a good start in the first race, just to be hit from behind by another rider - ripping open his Scott leathers - and then the race stopped two laps later with Dennis down in 25th place, made things look even worse. But a restart changed things, and Dennis made the best of another good start to battle through the field into the points and match his WSB result in 13th place.

His second race was a little hard as the bike developed a gear change problem, but Dennis pushed through this and again battled to more British Championship points, and our first double of the season.

“After Brands I was not sure about coming back to the multi-tyre battle, taking things out of our control. We had problems with grip levels against others, but the results have been the best up to now, so I am pleased with that. The team have a lot of hard work, and very little time to do it, to be ready for Cadwell, but they have it in them as normal to give their best and sort things for me,” smiled Dennis.

Lisa, after a long lay off, qualified the GR Moto 125 and, although on the back of the grid, she looked forward to the race - which had to be shortened after all the other race stoppages as the round had suffered many crashes. Making a not bad start, she pushed on to finish much higher than her start place, and now is looking forward to Cadwell.

Joe ‘the Toad’ will be chasing his first British Championship title this weekend at the final round of the ACU British Youth Grasstrack Championships at Muchhool near Preston. He only needs a handful of points to secure the title, but is assured of a top three finish.
“I can’t wait to take the title and then go and show it off to the team at Cadwell - Dad and Brent have worked hard on the bike. Brent sorted the engine with Chung. I want to win it - I hope it will make everyone proud. When I get this out of the way I can concentrate on the Supermoto British Championship, where I am second now after winning three races last weekend,” chuckled a very cheeky ‘Toad’.
