Its now official, FIA confirms qualifying change.

After it was reported during the Monaco Grand Prix of a qualifying revamp, the FIA have released a statement confirming that there will no longer be a Sunday session from the European Grand Prix onwards.

With the agreement of all the teams, the aggregate system is no more. The new format, designed to make everyone happy and less confusing for the viewer will see a single lap by all the drivers determine the grid with race fuel. The new system is as follows:

Single lap on Saturday afternoon with race fuel, with the cars then parked in parc ferme.

Running order will be in reverse order of the last race (i.e. race winner of the pervious race goes last).

There are also rumours of a return to the old style one hour, 12-lap system for next year, maybe the FIA are finally listening to the fans?
