| Dates: 7-9 January 2004
Location: Circuito de Jerez, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain Drivers: Olivier Panis (7-9), Ricardo Zonta (7-8), Cristiano da Matta (9) Track Length: 4.428km Ricardo
Zonta Total laps: 175 Best Lap Time: 1m17.967s Chassis: TF103/08 "For me, the test this week was
quite good. It is always nice to get back in the cockpit after a relatively
long break. We worked very closely with Michelin on Wednesday and Thursday
to do some tyre testing with the standard TF103 chassis and we found some
more positive results. It was a nice way to begin what I am sure will be an
exciting year for Panasonic Toyota Racing." "I am very happy with this test. We were able
to complete a lot of laps over the three days. We worked on the reliability
of the TF103B car for the first two days and managed over 130 laps, which is
really quite encouraging. Today I switched to the 103 car and did some long
runs to evaluate tyres with Michelin and everything went well. I am excited
that our new TF104 car is being launched next week, and confident that it
will be a big step forward." "I only drove on one day during this week's Jerez test and unfortunately it wasn't such a good day with some problems, which prevented us from completing too many laps. On a more positive note though, everyone in the factory has done a great job over Christmas and New Year to put the final touches to the TF104, which will be unveiled in Cologne next week. I am looking forward to testing it as our preparations for the 2004 season really intensify." |
