Kingfisher Airlines, owned by the Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya have announced that they will be ending their sponsorship deal with the Panasonic Toyota Racing F1 Team. Kingfisher had signed a multi year deal to sponsor the team beginning at the start of the 2007 Season, but it was announced on Monday that the two parties had split on 'Mutual consent.'

This news is not suprising to anyone now that Mallya owns his own Formula 1 outfit, 'Force India F1.' It will be team's fourth name in as many seasons after Spyker, Midland and Jordan.

The Kingfisher logos appeared on the Force India cars in winter testing in late 2007. With the Toyota deal now finished, Mallya can now concentrate on the running of his new team.

Toyota team principal Tadashi Yamashina said: "I would like to thank Kingfisher Airlines for its support during 2007 and I wish Dr Mallya good luck with his new Formula One venture.''

He added: "I look forward to seeing him next season, even if he is now associated with a rival team."
