Dai Young released a press statment yesterday evening, confirming that he WILL stay on as the Blues coach next year.

The statement followed Bob Norsters announcement yesterday, asuring fans that's he's going nowehere. Hour later, Dai himself has confirmed he's staying put. The statement said:

"I have been Coach here for four years and helped steer the Blues through some testing times but I feel that my work here is not finished. It is a job I would like to see through to the end and help bring some success on the field for the fans. I have been at the Arms Park for twelve seasons as both player and coach and it would never be easy for me to leave.

I feel we’ve made big strides on the field this season which has been matched by some massive strides off the field with the excellent work within our region.

I have always had tremendous support from Robert Norster and Peter Thomas as well as my coaching team of Rob Howley, Richard Webster, Dan Baugh and Trystan Bevan as well great loyalty and commitment from the players.

We all know next year will not be any easier but we are all looking forward to the challenges ahead with confidence and determination, however our focus now is winning our last two matches against Leinster and Munster."

It's a big boost for Cardiff, who have in recent weeks had their head coach linked with jobs with Wales, Saracens and even rivals, Llanelli Scarlets. His commitment is very commendable, but I personally wonder if something else has fuelled him to stay. Maybe a promise of more players in, or even a few less players heading for the chop.
