The Honda Racing F1 Team is back in Jerez this week for the second test of the year. Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson began the test programme this morning with Rubens Barrichello joining the test from tomorrow.
A very cold start to the morning with a track temperature of only 4˚c limited the drivers to installation laps only. However, by 10.30am the temperatures had warmed up sufficiently to allow both drivers to start their testing programmes.
Davidson completed a couple of set-up runs followed by an aero evaluation in the morning session, completing 42 laps. He ran through a tyre evaluation and further aero work in the afternoon, covering 92 laps to take his lap tally for the day to a very impressive 134 laps. Davidson set the third fastest time of the day – a 1:18.669.
Button completed 97 laps in total today. He also ran through tyre and aerodynamic evaluations, following a similar programme to Davidson, and set the fastest time of the day – a 1:18.338.
