BAR Honda Young Driver Adam Carroll took fifth and sixth place finishes in the first and second GP2 races this weekend at Monza, Italy.
Recovering from a gearbox problem in qualifying that forced the Ulsterman to start from the back of the grid, Adam drove calmly and quickly in Race 1, avoiding several incidents on the track in front of him, to finish ahead of Super Nova team-mate Giorgio Pantano in fifth position, just 35 seconds behind winner Heikki Kovaleinen.
Race 2 saw Adam pick up the final point, dropping one place from his fifth-place grid spot after being passed by a recovering Kovaleinen in the closing stages.
The next GP2 races are at Spa, Belgium, on 11 September.
