BAR Honda Young Driver Adam Carroll got back on form and in the points at this weekend's GP2 races at the new Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey.
After a difficult time in recent races, Adam turned his fortunes around with a stunning drive in Race 2 on Sunday. Having finished seventh in Saturday's race, he started from second on the grid for the Sunday race. Unfortunately, the Ulsterman stalled on the grid at the start of the warm-up lap, a consequence of a new clutch the team had fitted to the car on Saturday night.
Forced to start at the back of the grid, Adam fought his way superbly through the field, taking maximum advantage of the chaos caused by a pre-race rainshower to reach seventh place by lap 10. Following a change to dry tyres at the pit-stop, a magnificent final push saw him finish second behind overall series leader Heikki Kovaleinan.
Adam has moved back up to fifth in the Drivers' Championship, with his team Super Nova International third in the Team Championship.
The next GP2 race weekend takes place in Monza on 3-4 September.
