Adam Carroll had a difficult time at Silverstone this weekend as his rivals in the GP2 series began to open up a gap at the top of the championship. Qualifying fifth for Race 1 on Saturday, Adam ran a good race and was in fourth position, holding off a challenging Scott Speed, when he ran slightly wide through Stowe on lap 29.

Putting two wheels on the grass caused the car to spin, and although Adam was able to expertly recover control and get back on the track, Speed had passed him into fourth place.

Adam was forced to retire back to the pits with a flat rear tyre, and finished out of the points.

With his retirement in Race 1 meaning a starting slot near the back of the grid for Race 2 on Sunday, Adam was able to fight his way through the field and finish in a credible eighth position, picking up a point.

Adam is now fourth in the Driver Championship table with 34 points, behind third placed Scott Speed, second placed Nico Rosberg and overall leader Heikki Kovaleinan. His SuperNova International Team is third in the Team Championship.

The next race weekend will be in Hockenheim, Germany in two weeks' time.
