Readers of Autosport magazine have voted for their International Racing Driver of the Year, and it was Lucky Strike BAR Honda's own Jenson Button that surprisingly scooped the top award. The trophy was awarded by double world champion Mika Hakkinen at a glitzy event at London's Grosvenor House Hotel last night.

Jenson admitted to being surprised at receiving the award, adding that he feels "a little bit embarrassed holding this up because Michael won so many races and destroyed us in the championship."

Michael Schumacher won 13 races on his way to a record seventh Formula One World Championship, while both Jenson Button and BAR Honda failed to win a single event.
