An exciting Singapore race includes some great passing, and a fire being extinguished by Kovi the fireman.

The Singapore race was a mixed bag. Almost all teams started on the option (supersoft) tire.

At the start Alonso holds station into the fast complex of corners. Kubica moves up a couple of places, Rubens loses a couple of positions. Heidfeld hits the pits as the Sauber appears to have hit someone. Force India causes a safety car deployment on lap 2. Lap 5 the safety car pulls off and Webber makes a bold move on Schumacher taken over eights place in the process. Schumacher and Rosberg pit on lap 30.

Michael and Kobayashi have an incident and the German runs wide clouting the wall. Soon after Kobayashi and Senna collide bringing out the safety car out on lap 32. The safety car remained out until lap 35. Just after the race resumed Schumacher and Heidfeld had contact causing Nick to park his car next to the barriers.

Rosberg running in sixth place 2.2 sec. down dives into the pits, taking on prime tires and rejoins in 12th.

Kubica on new tires goes on a passing rampage and makes short order of his team mate, Massa, Hulkenberg and Sutil. The race concludes with Alonso winning by 2.2 sec. over Vettel. Webber finishes 3rd to complete the podium.

In the end the race had several hectic laps but was basically a two car race between Alonso and Vettle in which both drivers gave perfect performances.
