Nick Fry has resurfaced, speaking at the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) press conference in Geneva this morning, and confirming the news that RealHondaF1.com have shared, that there's an imminent announcement regarding the future of the team.

Whilst we've been told to expect an announcement within the next 24 hours, Fry was slightly less specific, commenting "There is an announcement due shortly. That is all I can say."

However, he went on to say more whilst talking of the assistance FOTA have given over the last three months, "I think it is correct to say that our team has and will benefit in the future from FOTA in two ways," Fry added.

I'll repeat the vital bit. "Our team has and will benefit in the future from FOTA"

Interestingly, it's Nick Fry that appears in the FOTA PR photo alongside the other team principals present, with Ross Brawn absent.

Fry took time to confirm that the changes FOTA are pushing through have made it possible for the ex-Honda team to survive.

"I think it is correct to say that our team has and will benefit from the future from FOTA in two ways. The first one is clearly that the cost reductions will help us enormously in the challenges the team will face in the next two years, but also as important is the level of support from all the teams.

"In particular that, on the day that Honda announced their withdrawal from the sport, we received support from Luca di Montezemolo, which was positive unconditional support, and from Ron Dennis.

Regarding the buyout, Fry acknowledges the size of the task in hand. "There has been an enormous amount of activity behind the scenes [from FOTA]," he commented. "I think myself and Ross and our 700 employees all thank them for that."

Employees at Brackley that we've spoken to remain unconvinced, explaining that throughout the entire saga there's been little or no information passed on to them, with any news coming from a limited number of trusted websites or contacts.

By the end of tomorrow, all should be much clearer for the fans and, more importantly, the staff.
