Review of the action from the Welsh Premiership on Friday night. Bridgend closed the gap on leaders Neath with an impressive away win at Carmarthen.

TWO early first-half penalties by fly-half Gareth Bowen was the only success the Quins had over Bridgend, writes Mike Walters.

Visiting lock and captain Mike Powell showed why he has joined Bourgoin with some unique skills as he delicately chipped ahead to give scrum-half Nick Griffiths a try.

Bowen and Gareth David traded penalties before full-back David sliced open the Quins midfield defence on a darting run. In support was flanker Gareth Williams, who galloped over from 20 metres out and the game was virtually over.
