BRIDGEND buried the hatchet with Llandovery and then sent them to landslide defeat in.

Last month the Brewery Field beat the Drovers 26-3, and then refused post-match hospitality at Church Bank.

They took exception to a letter the Tywi Valley side sent to the WRU, surrounding their failure to honour the original fixture at Llandovery back in November.

Bridgend were docked three points, but on Saturday the sides decided to shake hands.

"We've always enjoyed good relations with Llandovery, as Wales fly-half Aled Williams played for both clubs, and a line has now been drawn under this season's upheaval," said Bridgend chairman Derrick King.

Bridgend led 22-9 at the interval and following a third-quarter lull, they scored four tries in the last quarter of an hour.

Strong-running former Caer-philly centre Ryan Howells again caught the eye, two tries taking his season league tally to 12.

But Llandovery, who face a vital engagement with Llanharan at Church Bank on Wednesday, posed no threat in attack.

The Drovers have the lowest try tally in the division, 33 from 24 outings, and it is threatens their survival at this level.

With Caerphilly mounting a late revival, another key battle for Llandovery will be the rearranged game at Llanharan on March 26.
