The Warriors did all they could to try and get into the quarter finals but despite scoring 4 tries and getting the bonus point which could have been crucial, the Wasps ran out 34 - 6 winners in Perpignan resulting in them progressing to the quarter finals. Read on for more.

Calvisano 26 - 28 Celtic Warriors

Despite scoring 4 tries and gaining a bonus point in Italy it wasn't enough to see them progress to the quarter finals. Perpignan needed to beat Wasps with neither team picking up a bonus point for the Warriors to progress but unfortunately Wasps comfortably won by 24 - 6 in the South of France which sees them progress to the latter stages.

The Warriors started strong against Calvisano, scoring 3 treis through Deiniol Jones, Gareth Wyatt and Gareth Cooper within the first 20 minutes. Calvisano responded with a try and a couple of penalties to put the Warriors in a 21 - 10 half time lead.

As things stood at half time, the Warriors looked on course to pick up the maximum 5 points and in the Suuth of France Wasps were only leading by 13 - 6 so it was still anyone's game. In the second half Gareth Thomas secured the bonus point by scoring a try and although Calvisano responded yet again with penalties and a second try the Warriors were able to hold on for the win. However, the second half in France saw Wasps score a further 3 tries without response from Perpignan leaving the Warriors in second place on 20 points.
