    Pontypridd go into this match with a lead of 42 points thanks largely due to some excellent performances out in Italy last weekend. This weekends game has been rumoured to be in doubt however, Pontypridd are optimistic that Roma will turn up to the House Of Pain and suffer once again. In last weekends game it was two tries from Emyr Lewis, Sonny Parker and Dale McIntosh that got Ponty such a big margin but owing to the strength in depth of this years squad, Lynn Howells has been able to make 11 changes.

   Davey, Neil Jenkins, Baber, Bryant, Bell, Davies, McIntosh and Nick Kelly drop out of the team and are replaced by Nuttall, Sweeney, John, James, Gethin Jenkins, Rees, Cockbain and Richard Parks. The Roma team has not been named but they are expected to make few changes to the team which lost heavily last week due to injuries in the squad.

   Pontypridd will be looking to inflict another heavy defeat onto this poor Roma side and take their place in Round two of the draw where they could face either Leeds or Padova. Last weekend Leeds managed to gain the advantage by running out 29 - 23 winners but they will be taking nothing for granted in this weekends return leg at Headingley.
