Manager, Eddie Wolecki signed up no less than 4 ex-Elgin City youngsters and plunged two of them into this match against lowly Albion Rovers who signed Derek Ferguson to their coaching team this week.

Centre half Darryn Kelly and striker Philip Reid came into the first team, which saw Gary Mddleton out of the squad altogether.

Rovers started the hungrier and after 2 minutes were one up when CHISHOLM rose above the Mo defence to head home Doyle's free kick.

The Mo looked dead and buried two minutes later when the defence went to sleep and a long ball from ex-Endies keeper Gary McGlynn found DONACHY on the edge of the Mo box. The striker controlled the ball brilliantly and drilled a low drive inside Sandy Wood's left hand post.

Bonnar found himself in the book for the visitors on the half hour after he took a hold of Hugh Davidson by the nexk.

The Mo fought their way back into this match and after 37 minutes a glorious long pass from the centre circle by Foxy found MCLEOD on the left and he volleyed an unstoppable shot past McGlynn.

At half-time, Brash replaced Reid, who found it tough up front in the first 45.

Brash went to the left of midfield and Foxy pushed forward.

In 49 minutes, Rovers should have gone further ahead when Chisholm wasted a great chance and skied it over the bar.

Watson came on for a disinterested Fotheringham opn 65 minutes and Rovers replaced Chisholm with Sim.

Kesgy then replaced Kelly as the Mo pushed for the equaliser.

The pressure almost paid off in 80 minutes from a corner. Kegsy rose to head it on and Henslee's brave diving header was saved by McGlynn.

A minute later, McLeod fired in a 30 yard looping shot which McGlynn just managed to tip over.

Montrose finally equalised in 84 minutes. qhwn Watson cut back to DAVIDSON who drove low past McGlynn for a deserved equaliser.

Noble came on for Selkirk for the visitors in 86 minutes.

There was time for Lennon to be booked for timewasting for Rovers and a goalmouth stramash with Watson jumping with McGlynn for a high ball with seconds remaining. It looked suspiciously like McGlynn had knocked the ball into his own net under pressure, but the referee predictably chalked it off for a foul on the keeper.

The Mo did well to come back, but should surely never have been in that position in the first place.
