Scottish Football League Division Three, Saturday 21 February 2004, Links Park, Montrose. MONTROSE 1 (Webster (34)) STIRLING ALBION 4 (Davidson (7), O'Brien (31), Lyle (45), Rowe (58)) Henry Hall's honeymoon is well and truly over after a four game stint that has seen us lose 14 goals.

The crowd was swelled by a good turnout by home and away support.

Stirling settled first and were ahead inside 7 minutes when Ryan Davidson pounced on a John McQuillan defensive header inside the Montrose box to secure the lead.

The league leaders were two up in 31 minutes when the ball was deflected across the Montrose box for O'Brien to stab home from close in.

Montrose rallied and Kevin Webster scored the goal of the game after 34 minutes when he volleyed a clearance by keeper Hogarth over a packed penalty area and into the top right corner. Montrose continued to make chances, but disaster struck with only seconds remaining when a Lyle shot from the edge of the box was deflected past Jim Butter.

Montrose huffed and puffed in the second half and although made numerous chances, failed to convert any.

Old Smokie carthorse, George Rowe made the points safe after 58 minutes.

Henry has a bit of a problem at the moment. He missed Kerrigan's dig in midfield, although Darren Spink did a good job in that area when he came on. The front players aren't converting enough chances. Stirling converted pretty much all of their clear cut chances and that is why they are where they are.

A tricky trip to Gretna awaits next weekend.
