Saturday 23 November 2002. Scottish League Division 3. Cappielow, Greenock. Morton 4 (Williams (8), Conway o.g. (10), Hawke (77), Williams (90)) Montrose 2 (Henderson (85,88)) New Morton manager, John 'Cowboy' McCormack, will be pleased to come away with three points on his team's debut in his charge, but he will have had a fright by a Montrose comeback at the death.

Morton went ahead early on through Williams, whose sklaff trundled into the net, and they made it two after 10 minutes through a Frank Conway own goal. (Maybe he has been training with Grant Johnston...) They scored again through Warren Hawke after 77 mnutes and must have felt that they were cruising. Substitute, Robbie Henderson, had different ideas and scored a brace after 85 and 88 minutes to set up an exciting finish, but Williams finished the job for Morton on 90 minutes.

Montrose's leaky defence has conceded four goals or more four times this season and only East Stirling have a worse goal difference. More chilling is the fact that Queen's Park are only 2 points behind after they beat Peterhead today.
