Cash Boost for Welsh Premier Grounds
The Football Association of Wales has promised to help Welsh Premier clubs, by giving them money to bring grounds up to UEFA standards.

Only a handful of the clubs in the league have grounds good enough to host Champions League and UEFA Cup matches, and the FAW want that to change.

The FAW made the first steps to their new plan yesterday, announcing the clubs would receive £160,000 between them to improve the standard of floodlights, bring them in line with UEFA directives.

The league's extended sponsorship deal with JT Hughes Mitsubishi has made extra cash available, and the plan to increase ground standards will be a pleasing one for the league's supporters.

League secretary John Deakin has said that initially three grounds will be targeted for improvement, one each in South, Mid and North Wales.
