Porthmadog have become the 2nd Welsh Premier side in a week to beat Welsh exiles Colwyn Bay in a pre season friendly, following yesterday's (Saturday) 3-2 victory at Llanelian Road. 

At nearby Llandudno, Aberystwyth secured a 2-0 after goals from new boy Phil Baker and Tony Wright. A few miles east, Rhyl could only manager a 2-2 draw with Hollingwood at Bellebue Park. Meanwhile Newtown were held to a 1-1 draw by Penryncoch and Cwmbran ran out easy winners against Cwmamen, winning 4-0 at Richmond Park. Further south again, Pembroke were given a footballing lesson by Welsh Premier neighbours Haverfordwest, who ran out 5-1 winners.

Over the Irish Sea, Ken McKenna's TNS fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against manager-less Derry City. The Eircom League outfit won courtesy of a fifth minute Liam Coyle penalty. Next Saturday the Saints face Portadown.
