Rhyl are set to receive a 20k windfall if ex-striker Lee Trundle signs a new contract with Nationwide Division 2 club Wrexham. The Lilywhites will be hoping that the ex-Southport striker will agree to stay with the Dragons after joining them for 50k two seasons ago.

However, Wrexham are facing competition for Trundle's signature, with fellow Welsh exiles Swansea City set to offer Trundle a vastly improved offer than Wrexham's. Dragons  Manager Denis Smith is hopeful that the scouse striker will stay at the Racecourse for another two seasons due to him not wishing to drop back down a division or wanting to leave his Liverpool home.

Rhyl director Peter Parry told the 'Wrexham Evening Leader' "I just want Lee Trundle to be successful in his career whether he stays at Wrexham or not. We have already had money from Wrexham following his transfer for Rhyl and, if he signs a new contract at Wrexham, we are due our final payment."

If Trundle is attracted by the lure of more money, then he will team up with the manager who brought him to Wrexham, Brian Flynn - who is now the Swans Director of Football. Swansea narrowly avoiding relegation to the Conference last season, but Flynn is hoping that the Swans can follow Wrexham to Division 2 next season.
