After 12 years as Newtown manager, Brian Coyne has announced he will leave the mid-Wales club at the end of the season. He will be joined by first team coach Richard Pike, who will leave after two decades with the Robins. The Newtown official site announced that Coyne informed the chairman of his decision immediately after the away victory at Rhyl.

The reason for Coyne and Pike leaving are still unclear. The Robins are suffering from yet another poor season, and are currently languishing in 12th place, 8 points behind a Premier Cup place.

There have been rumours of Coyne joining TNS next season, with current 'Saints' boss Ken McKenna reportedly interesting Nationwide Conference club Telford United. There have also been reports of a bust up with chairman Phil Trenbath over cutbacks in the club's budget.
