The Somerset seamer followed up his five-wicket first innings haul by taking four for 44 as Bangladesh slumped to 138 all out in 37.1 overs.

England had declared on their overnight score of 293 for five which translates to a 467-run lead - comfortably enough to seal a comprehensive 2-0 series whitewash.

Johnson had begun England's victory charge first thing this morning by making the breakthrough with the 12th ball of the innings when opener Hannan Sarkar was brilliantly caught one-handed by wicketkeeper Chris Read diving down the leg-side.

But perhaps the most significant success of the morning was the demise of Habibul Bashar, Bangladesh's most accomplished batsman, who contributed to his own downfall and ran himself out for 21.

Bashar hooked Johnson to the deep but set off at a slow pace expecting the ball to reach the boundary but was unable to beat Martin Saggers' throw from the deep as he chased a third run.

Opener Javed Omar was the next to fall when his 74 minutes of resistance was broken as he attempted to cut Saggers but instead looped the ball in the air and gave Read a comfortable catch behind the stumps.

Any attempts at further resistance seemed to end when Bangladesh suffered another run out two overs later, Mushfiqur Rahman failing to beat Michael Vaughan's throw from cover after Rajin Saleh had pushed for a quick single.

Saleh himself fell three overs later, edging Rikki Clarke behind in his only over before going off still complaining of feeling unwell.

Alok Kapali's entertaining 19 was ended by a brilliant catch by Saggers in the deep off Johnson.

At 91 for six at lunch, England did not expect much more resistance and with wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud (15) edging Johnson behind for his third wicket shortly after the interval, victory looked imminent.

Khaled Mahmud hit 33 off only 40 balls, but once he had guided Johnson to Vaughan at short leg the innings was completed with Mashrafe Mortaza unable to bat because of a knee injury.
