Lee Trundle scored his eleventh goal of the season as Swansea won 2-1 away at Leyton Orient. But the league's top marksman then limped off the pitch with knee medial ligament damage.

Lee Trundle scored his eleventh goal of the season as Swansea won 2-1 away at Leyton Orient.

But the league's top marksman then limped off the pitch with knee medial ligament damage.

Swansea were 2-0 inside the first quarter of an hour at The Matchroom Stadium. Lee Trundle grabbed the first when Kevin Nugent headed a cross down into his path. But with his back to goal Trundle tried an over head kick and it fell over the head of Orient goalkeeper, Lee Harrison and into the net.

Trundle and Nugent then swapped roles as the former Wrexham players cross was met by Nugent who scored against his old club.

Orient could find no way past the Swans defence of Howard, Duffy, O'Leary and Iriekpen until there were just two minutes left.

Chris Tate rose at the back post to head home for Orient.

"He has slight ligament damage to his knee. We are hopeful it is not too serious but obviously he had to come off."

"It is a blow to us that Lee is out," he said. " He is an entertainer, and when he is enjoying his football like that he is unstoppable.

"And it is good to see that he and Kevin are linking up so well.

"But we have dealt with injuries before, and I am sure the rest of the squad are up to the task which I set them - which is to get results."
Flynn Reflecting On The Game And The Season Prospects

" It we can do what we did today for the rest of the season we can expect to finish well in the league.

"A place in the top seven is definitely not beyond us, but we have to work hard and grind out results.

"They put us under a lot of pressure today, and we dealt with it well. Even after their goal, when they were in our box I was confident we were going to win it.

"What has changed since I arrived is we have begun to believe in ourselves, and realised we have to grind out wins sometimes.

"Orient put us under pressure in the second half, but I thought we defended the penalty box as well as we have done since I arrived at the club.

"We had chances to finish the game, but I was confident the lads would hold on for the win.

"Eight wins in 13 games is very pleasing, but we won't get into a comfort zone - we have to build on that and keep things going."
