It has taken a long time but there may well be two new players at Cheltenham Town. They sound like 2 cracking players. Find out who they are right here! The long awaited incoming of new players at Cheltenham Town maybe starting. On Monday 15th July 2 players will join for a 2 week trial. The 2 players in question are Ryan McCann and Damien Spencer.

McCann is the younger brother of former Cheltenham Town loan player Grant McCann. He is a 19 year old central midfielder who is currently at double winners in Scotland - Glasgow Rangers. He has 1 year left running on his contract at Rangers but will be available for Cheltenham to sign on a free if he impresses in the friendly matches in the next 2 weeks. He is yet to make an apperance for Rangers but the opinion among the fans is that he must be a special player to be on Rangers books and could be a handy player at Division 2 level.

Damien Spencer is a 21 year old forward who has been on the fringe of the Bristol City squad for the past 2 seasons. Cheltenham manager Graham Allner told www.cheltenhamtownfc.com "Damian has left Bristol City but there is a body of opinion that suggests he was very unlucky to be released. He is also a striker which is what we need." We are in desperate need to bolster are strikeforce with the only current senior strikers in the squad Julian Alsop and Tony Naylor. Again if Damien impresses during his 2 week stay he will be available on a free transfer.

These are the exact type of players we are looking for. Both players have experience at a higher level and they are not going to brake the bank. Check back on www.cheltenhamtown.cjb.net to see if we have signed them on.
