With the Robins now within touching distance of the Relegation zone the festive period will play a big part in determining the success of the season. I analyse the games over Christmas and predict how I think we will perform. Boxing Day: Macclesfield Town (h)

A 6 pointer. After their weekend win over DarlingtonMacclesfield find themselves 3 points above Cheltenham. Macclesfield have improved under their new manager John Askey, however I feel that the Robins will be too strong for Macclesfield and battle out a needed win.

Sunday December 28: Northampton Town (a)

Another bottom of the table clash. Last year the Robins visited the Sixfields stadium and battled out a deserved 2-1 away win. Northamptons home form is patchy with 4 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses, statistics show they are due a draw and on the day I think both teams will match each other and play out a draw.

Sunday January 4th: Fulham (a)

The Robins first ever competetive fixture against a top flight team. Ticket sales have now got to the 2000 mark and most if not all of the 3100 allocation are expected to go. Whether or not Chris Coleman will play his big name stars like Saha, Boa Morte, Davis, Malbranque, Legwinski is yet to be known, the heart says a Cheltenham win or draw, but the head says Fulham will just be to classy for us.

Friday January 9th: Southend (h)

OK maybe just out of the festive period but this is again anothercrucial game in the season. Southend outclassed Cheltenham on the first day of the season running out easy winner 2-0 down by the sea side. However things have not run so smoothly since with results dipping and the sacking of their manager. I feel with the home backing and the players realsing how important a game this is that the Robins will see off Southend in a close game.
