For a real 6 pointer many thought Bobby Gould had lost it when Higgs took Book's place between the sticks and John Brough was put up front.What followed though was one of the better Cheltenham preformences with Devaney,Brown and Spencer grabbing goals Early goals are a strange affair.You reach your seat late and think its just the lads celebrating a sucessful practice session but no they've taken a 1-0 lead.For the 4 time in a row an early goal was scored and this time it was Devaney who's shot hit the keeper and went in to give CTFC an early lead.For the next 35 neither team created anything of threat but Higgs was responsible for some great saves to justify his selection.Most of the entertainment was provided by the idiotic linesman and his flag.However Marv Brown beat the offside trap to double the advantage as his placed shot came on 38 mins.After half time Cheltenham easily held a Mansfield side at bay that threated very little and the 2nd half is nothing to write home about.All looked to be ok until Mansfield were awarded a free kick for what looked to be nothing.At this point I will stop the report to reveal how I got it badly wrong.Turning confidently to a mate I said with a lot of calm that the wall would do its job.Well didn't Liam Lawerence prove me wrong with a kick Higgs could do nothing about.The last 7 minutes were a nervous affair as we thought Cheltenham would throw it away until Dave Bird put an inch perfect cross to Spencer who coolly headed it in from close range

In all a very good win that should boost a bit of confidence
