Cheltenham Town have in recent weeks submitted two £50k bids for two un named players in response to the recent loss of form. Both bids smash the clubs record transfer fee record of £25k. A statement from Paul Baker reveled that two bids of £50k have been turned down for new players. The previous record transfer fees being £25k for Antony Griffin from Bournemouth and the same fee for Mark Yates from Kiddie"fiddlers".

Many fans beleive one of the turned down bids was for Grant McCann of West Ham. The Northern Ireland International having spent 2 months at the club on laon earlier in the season and having impressed on the left hand side of midfield.

With the arrival of Lee Bowyer at West Ham Glenn Roeder may want to off load fringe players like McCann to lower the wage bill.

Your guess is as good as mine as to who the other mystery player is. Many fans will hope that it is for a new full back or a proven Division 2 striker.

Robins fans will be encouraged that there is atleast £100k in the transfer kitty to spend on new players. There is no doubt new faces are needed to help propel us up the league. Whether we look at new players or submit 2 new bids for these two players we will see.
