When on-loan keeper fumbled a cross Paul Smith was on hand to poke it in on 30 minutes.  The 148 traveling Town fans were greeted by a warm and sunny day at Sincil Bank but left in a rainy mood.

It was just a simple cross which the giant could and should have just plucked from the air but "butterfingers" Bevan spilled it and Town were justly punished.

Town played some good football and once again fielded a 4-3-3 formation.  Eddie Youds played an excellent game and looked like he was in control of Town's defence.  Martin Smith also played 70 minutes in his campaign to regain 100% match fitness.  Smith had a good game and linked up well with the two strikers alongside him - Booth and MacDonald.

Of the 4 substitutes - Brown, Stead, Worthington and Thorrington, all were used.  The attendance was a low 972 but I'm not quite sure how many Lincoln's ground holds!

Eddie Youds was replaced by Nat Brown in the second half after he sustained a "poke in the eye" but I have know these to be not too serious.  The young subs seemed to adapt comfortably and work well with their teammates so this is another good sign.

When Mick was asked about his feelings about the result he once again said he didn't care much for the result, in the pre-season match fitness and getting the players comfortable with their new 4-3-3 tactic was more important than the actual result.
