Town will play Darlington in a night-match on September 10th for the Worthington Cup first round.

This afternoon Huddersfield confirmed that the first-round Worthington Cup match against Darlington will kick off at 7:45pm on Tuesday 10th September.

No details of the admission costs have been released and Town are in negotiations with the Football League and Darlington on whether they can give fans a special discount on the normal matchday fee.

For the past two years Town have made an early exit from the Worthington Cup falling to Rochdale and Oldham respectively.  Wadsworth hopes to avoid a third successive embarrassment, and losing to another lower league team, Darlington, certainly would be an embarrassment.

Town have only played Darlington once in the Worthington Cup and that was back in the 1991/92 season when they lost 1-0 in the first leg but outclassed them 4-0 in the second leg.
