If you like him, good. If you don't, you still should respect him for all that he's done for McLaren. In fact, he's been with McLaren longer than any other driver. This Thursday, David Coulthard will be 32 years old. David has been with McLaren it seems since the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. In short, DC came with the building. There are those that criticize him a great deal, poke fun at him and ridicule him for never having won a Drivers Title…but DC has done a lot for McLaren, and has given a lot to Formula 1.

David was born in Twynholm, Scotland in 1971. He’s given McLaren nearly all of the years of his Formula 1 career, and helped McLaren secure titles in both constructors and drivers titles for Mika Hakkinen.

David Coulthard deserves all the thanks one can give from a McLaren fan. He’s been a strong, consistent and competitive driver since his arrival in 1996.

Only the future will tell us if David will become a Champion…but in the end, he’s a champion of McLaren. Thanks David. Thanks large for all the years of hard work. Thanks for the wins and the points that helped McLaren become what it is today…one of the top 3 teams in Formula 1.
