Lewis Hamilton reiterated the assertions of McLaren that there will be equal treatment between the two drivers next year and that he and Jenson Button will have a good relationship after concerns that the team may experience the same sort of farce as in 2007 - the last time Hamilton faced a world champion in the same team.
In an interview with ITV News and broadcast on ITV News at Ten, Hamilton quashed these concerns, "Me and Jenson have generally had quite a good relationship...we've known each other for many many years so I don't think there'll be any problems."
In respect to the treatment each driver will receive from the team, Lewis added, "I think it's all a level playing field but clearly I've been in the team a little bit longer than him...but then he's the world champion, you know". Smiling, he continued, "I'm not the world champion, I'm the number 2 driver...we're very much equal".
In the interview, Hamilton also said that he is 'a huge fan' of Schumacher and that 'it'll be a great experience' to get to race against him. He would not take questions on his relationship with Nicole Scherzinger after their spokesman confirmed today that they have split to concentrate on their careers but will remain friends.

Hey HGW,
What do you think that frank"hamilton-is-disrespectful-to-other-drivers"alfa will say about this?
Great post and exactly my point.
Frank and co. have their heads so far up their own backsides they choose to ignore things like this. But when the kid says something like 'i dont care if the rest crash as long as i win' they immediately jump on him and he is the son of evil.
If you ask me they are 5hit scared of Hamilton and what he could achieve in time.

Exactly right. They did the same thing with Alonso when he had schumacher and ferrari bent over a table in 2005 and 2006, and they will do the same thing to vettel if he starts winning a bit to frequently.

It's just classic irony really, especially from Lewis' point of view. He sees himself as natural number 1 against any one. So he makes a play on words based on the number on his car. It means nothing but it means everything.
The fact is that 98% of people will not see the intended irony or understand the pun. Personally, I like to see a bit of self deprecating humour from Mr golden balls. He may end up being the GOAT as far as I can see and good on him. He's a decent human being at the same time though and I think that is what is so hard for some people to get their head around.
All I say is Go Lewis, Go Jenson. I hope they win everything and I have a desire to see Jense bring it to Lewis as well. I hope the final 3 races are a nail biter between these 2 and nobody else.
