Since the days of last year, McLaren has always stated that they've always given equal treatment for both their drivers, although that's been disputed from time to time, they have always tried to give both drivers the same quality of cars and even though Heikki is 23 points behind Lewis in the constructors championship, McLaren are continuing to give them the same level of treatment.

McLaren are maintaining their equal treatment policy this year, even though Heikki Kovalainen is twenty three points behind Lewis Hamilton in this years champioship, even though, that could make Lewis's job of keeping his championship lead even harder than it already is.

At this point last year, the world drivers champion, Kimi Raikkonen was further away than Heikki Kovalainen is at the moment, so for Heikki, its all to play for.

When asked when the right moment during the season is it best to switch the teams attention onto one driver, Haug replied never

"After six races, I would not say that. You only need to look at last year - at a later stage than this in the championship, Kimi Raikkonen was a greater distance from the top than Heikki is now." Haug said.

One of Heikki's best chances of winning his first race will come at Montreal, where it is expected to be a wet weekend.
