The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One team have completed the third and final practice session for this weekends Chinese Grand Prix. Reigning world champion Fernando Alonso ended the session in 2nd place two one hundredths of a second behind Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando’s team mate Lewis ended the session in 3rd 0.127 seconds behind the fastest Ferrari.

Ferrari’s Kimi Räikkönen set the fastest time in the last practice session. Räikkönen had a small mechanical glitch near the end of the session. Meanwhile McLaren’s Fernando Alonso ended the last free practice session in 2nd place, almost three one hundredths shy of Kimi’s fastest time.

British superstar Lewis Hamilton ended the session in third place, a tenth behind the ultimate pace of Räikkönen. Felipe Massa slipped behind the top three and ended the session three tenths behind his team mate.

Ralf Schumacher in the Toyota finished in the best of the rest position, the German ended the final one hour of practice in 5th place, with Red Bull Racings David Coulthard finishing the session in 6th place, just six one thousandths of a second behind Schumacher’s Toyota.

BMW’s Robert Kubica finished in 7th place, with Hekki Kovalainen just a second behind the fastest Ferrari. BMW driver Nick Heidfeld ended the session in 9th place, two tenths ahead of tenth placed Mark Webber.
