Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen has bet his Ferrari team mate and both McLarens to pole position for Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix. Both Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were unable to challenge either of the Ferrari’s; Fernando will line up 3rd, while Lewis will line up for tomorrow’s race 4th. The 22 year old Britain looked to be running a lap or two more than the Ferrari’s.
The first qualifying session saw Fernando Alonso go fastest, with Felipe Massa only just getting out to complete his Q1 qualifying lap, Felipe managed to get through Q1 and had no problems through Q2 and Q3.
The two Ferrari’s of Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa sealed the front row from the two, McLaren’s of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, Hamilton looking to be carrying a lap or two more fuel than the Ferrari’s.
Robert Kubica will line up in 15th place, despite qualifying in 5th place, the super quick Polish driver finishing the session in 5th place ahead of Williams driver Nico Rosberg.
Nick Heidfeld ended the session in 7th place; the German will gain one place, as will the drivers who currently occupy 6th-14th places. Mark Webber finished in 8th place, despite missing his last run in Q2, when Mark found himself just missing the timing line before the session’s time ran out.
Toyota driver, Jarno Trulli and Renault driver Hekki Kovalainen rounded out the top ten, with Hekki’s team mate, Giancarlo Fisichella will be starting in 10th due to Robert Kubica’s engine change.
