Mercedes Motorsport director Norbert Haug has defended driver Lewis Hamilton over his blocking of the Ferrari’s in Sepang, his defence of Hamilton came after the Brit came under fire from Felipe Massa, who drove an appalling race.

We all know that its easier to blame someone else than ourselves, which is what I think Felipe Massa is doing. He made a number of rookie like mistakes, just like he made while he was back at Sauber back in 2002.

In that season we saw him make a number of mistakes, however during the past few seasons he’s improved, this was not the case in the race in Sepang.

Lewis Hamilton held up the Brazilian, but not on purpose said Norbert, and that both McLarens did not contribute to their victory tactically. However Ron Dennis stated after the race that they had, is there some mis communication happening in McLaren?

Instead Norbert blamed the Ferrari’s poor showing on their car, and their drivers, saying that they couldn’t get what they wanted out of the car.
